The Bible tells us to have "joy unspeakable and full of glory". Many wonder how we are supposed to do that? After all, all we see in the news and on television is the darkness of this world. Sin abounds and evil is everywhere for our eyes to taste. How are we supposed to balance this? We first must realize and understand that God is in control. We hear this so often that it loses its meaning. It is true, however, but when we hear this we have to realize that God is in control to the point that He knows much more about what is going on and what needs to be done than we do. He knows which people to allow in what circumstance to preserve them and have them hear the Gospel. We do not have access to this information. Many seem to expect God to ask them for approval before allowing them to go through something.
We have to remember that many of the trials that Israel went through in the Old Testament were a result of their own poor decisions. We also have to remember that God brought in an enemy to take them over. Why would He do this to His own people? Habakkuk tells us that God was working on them and in them through the enemy. Wow! Imagine that! Folks, God is working. It may not make sense to you and you may not approve of His methods, but when you gave Him your life, you gave Him permission to do to you want is needed done to preserve you and bring you into the kingdom of God.
We live in Gods' joy by turning situations and people over to Him. Let Him handle and you live your life. Pray and encourage those who need it, but do not bog yourself done with the stress and despair of someone else's life. Live like Jesus is your Savior!
